A fellow MTV Reality television blog, the obviously named but content-heavy, MTV Reality Blog is reporting that there will be no new season of Laguna Beach. This is shocking for a few reasons. Number one, Season 3 was bad but not horrible (as we reported in our first ever post) and number two, MTV has shown such a committment to the franchise it's hard to see them turning back now.
But.
It. is. over. Through some incredible MySpace interviewing with LC's little sister, MTV Reality Blog is reporting that MTV is headed in an entirely different direction. Or if you turn the map the right way, to the left, to the left. MTV is headed to Newport Beach to cast and create an entirely different franchise. Yes, these are all still rumors only even suggested via a MySpace interview to a reality television blog but STILL we are running with them. What will MTV call this new show? 1) Newport Beach: The next next addiction in possibly fake reality television 2) Newport Beach: Shit, these kids will do anything. 3) Newport Beach: We were straight out of ideas and it was only 10 miles away.
This is a bomb-shell. I understand if you're upset. Hell, we're upset. We predicted, after a stirring closing scene in Season 3, that Cameron would be the new narrator and take us to a level of televised sluttiness only seen before in X-rated movies and Real World Las Vegas. I dreamed a dream and now that dream is gone from me. These Newport Beach kids better bring the noise.

There has been speculation about the continuation of the show; there were initial rumours that filming would begin in December of 2006, but now it has been suggested that the MTV cameras have not been seen around the town, and on Breanna's myspace, she mentions how she has not started filming, and that MTV may start filming with a new cast.It has been announced that MTV is doing a season 4 and will also be doing a spin off called Newport Beach.
In early April it was revealed that Laguna Beach would be renewed for a fourth season, with a whole new cast.

That is false. You got that off Wikipedia? Ha! Half of the crap you read on Wikipedia isnt true. Laguna Beach wont be back for Season 4, but at least we might be getting the Newport Beach show as soon as later this year.
